We love Rising Spirits and highly recommend it. The care and curriculum are top notch. Our son started there as an infant and he's grown in wonderful ways as part of the RS community. They use a nationally recognized preschool curriculum--Mother Goose. I loved that while other places I visited in my daycare search avoided art with the under 2 year olds, RS has awesome art projects for all the children. The indoor and outdoor spaces are wonderful. The rates are reasonable and the location is convenient (right off of 580, near 13 too). Please reach out if you have questions you'd like for a RS parent to field.

My kids, 1.5 and a 4 year old boys have been attending RS since Jan 2013. Rising Spirits is a gem in the East Oakland/Mills College area.  Miss Aisha Sabry & Miss Billie Burnor are excellent, caring, loving, experienced educators and I can't recommend them enough. I am so thankful for them. Not only are they very accommodating with anything you ask, but they really care about providing a clean, safe, loving, healthy and harmonious environment in which the kids can excel.

Miss Aisha is a true educator (her background is in child education) and she really gets involved and participates with the kids in their play and learning. She follows an age-appropriate curriculum and the kids are always engaged in creative/fun activities (both structured and unstructured). There is a yard and a mini-garden and Miss Aisha strives to serve healthy and organic treats/snacks. Miss Billie is a musician and also teaches swimming for the kids during the summer months.

They are just awesome and caring people and I can't recommend them enough. Please contact me with any questions. I am happy to give a reference.
